Evaluation of magnetite as an indicator mineral for porphyry Cu exploration: a case study using bedrock and stream sediments at the Casino porphyry Cu–Au–Mo deposit, Yukon, Canada

چکیده
The trace element composition of detrital magnetite grains recovered from six local streams around the Casino high-grade porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposit, west-central Yukon, is compared with igneous and magmatic-hydrothermal mineralized unmineralized host rocks at deposit. Linear discriminant analysis 12 elements (Mg, Al, Ti, V, Mn, Co, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga Ge) plots Ti versus Ni/Cr are used to discriminate between potassic alteration zone granodiorite quartz monzonite hosting Magmatic-hydrothermal a similar that identifiable in stream sediments draining Copper magnetite, present as minute inclusions sulfide minerals such chalcopyrite or substituted within crystal lattice, strong indicator Cu mineralization. We show chemical compositions can be explore for systems. A clustering approach for mineral potential mapping: A deposit-scale porphyry copper exploration targeting
This work describes a knowledge-guided clustering approach for mineral potential mapping (MPM), by which the optimum number of clusters is derived form a knowledge-driven methodology through a concentration-area (C-A) multifractal analysis. To implement the proposed approach, a case study at the North Narbaghi region in the Saveh, Markazi province of Iran, was investigated to discover porphyry ...
متن کاملAccounting for secondary variable for the classification of mineral resources using co-kriging technique; a Case study of Sarcheshmeh porphyry copper deposit
Due to substantial effect of classification of resource models on future mine planning, one should come with an accurate method of estimation to guarantee that the minimum error is acquired in the estimation process. The known world class Cu-Mo deposit, Sarcheshmeh Porphyry deposit (central Iran) selected as the study area. The Hypogene zone of the deposit was chosen as the space in which estim...

The Ok Tedi Complex hosts a world-class porphyry copper-gold deposit. Samples from the Ok Tedi Complex and the neighbouring Mount Ian Complex were analyzed for major and trace elements using XRF and HR-ICP-MS, and the isotopic composition of S in sulphides was analyzed by Elemental Analyzer. Major element geochemistry indicates that both complexes are alkaline and contain rocks ranging in compo...
